  • Boí Taüll, Espot and Port Ainé accumulate snow thicknesses of up to 130 cm, 95 cm and 75 cm respectively and La Molina will open all its sectors

  • Vall de Núria will expand its skiing domain and Vallter will have the red slope of Estadi open

  • The good condition of the slopes thanks to the cold and the quality of the fallen snow, the constant work of the resort staff and the forecast of more snow ensure good conditions for the rest of the season

The cold and the precipitation in the form of snow recorded in recent days have resulted in the recovery of the winter aspect of the ski and mountain resorts of FGC. This good situation and the constant work of the technical teams ensure the expansion of the number of skiable kilometers in the coming days and throughout February.

For the weekend, the cold forecast remains, which ensures an exceptional snow quality.

Boí Taüll has been the most favored by the recent snowfalls. The Alta Ribagorça station records thicknesses between 65 cm at low elevations and 130 at high elevations. The forecasts for the weekend are to expand the skiing domain, with the opening of the Collbirrós sector, and to open 95% of the slopes, which add up to a total of 41 slopes and 9 out of 10 ski lifts.

La Molina records snow thicknesses of up to 40 cm at low altitudes to 75 cm at high altitudes. The recent snowfalls and the intense cold have allowed the connection of the La Molina + Masella ski area to open. This weekend, visitors are expected to be able to slide down the resort's 37 slopes and cover 35 skiable kilometers. In addition, for the first time this season all sectors of the resort will be open from Alabau to Tosa d'Alp. On the other hand, the snowshoe circuits and the snowpark will also be open.

The resort of Port Ainé has optimal conditions and very good snow quality, which has allowed a large part of its skiing area to be opened with snow thicknesses of up to 75 cm. For the weekend there will be 22 slopes open, which represents 95% of skiable kilometers, and 100% of the lifts will be in operation. In addition, all the itineraries (off piste, snowshoes, snowpark, fun park and skimo) will be open.

Espot, on the other hand, is between 60 cm at low altitudes and 95 cm at high altitudes. At the weekend, 18 of the 22 pistes with hard powder snow quality, 100% of the lifts and the snowshoe and skimo itineraries will be open. The opening of the off-piste route will depend on the risk of avalanches. On the other hand, on January 28 and 29, the last two days of the Alpine Para Ski World Championships will be held, with the men's and women's slalom, respectively.

As far as Vallter is concerned, the last snowfalls have made it possible to accumulate a thickness of snow of 15 cm at low altitudes and 40 cm at high altitudes. In recent days, the resort has opened the Estadi track, a red track with very good snow quality, and the Jordi Pujol Planella chairlift, which allows you to reach the resort's highest elevation, at 2,500 m . In addition, the toboggan run for the little ones and the Marmotes café will also be open at the weekend, for a coffee or a good lunch with a view of the station.

With snow thicknesses of 50 cm at low altitudes and up to 80 cm at high altitudes, Vall de Núria plans to open 76% of the ski domain and 100% of the lifts. The Fun Park is at full capacity, with toboggan runs and tubbing. In addition, on Saturday 28 January, the traditional Papu Night will take place with night skiing with witches, demons and papus.

Thanks to the recent snowfall, the ski slopes of FGC therefore offer the best conditions so far for this 2022-2023 season. In addition, during the next few days, favorable winter weather conditions are expected that will make it possible to enjoy skiing and snowboarding to the fullest.
